Welcoming the Summer in Boracay

The Plane

Sometime in November of last year, me and a couple of friends (Cali and Paula) stumbled upon good deals on tickets to Boracay during a seat sale from Philippine Airlines. We immediately decided to make a couple of calls to Chester and Edwin to join us as well. We got the roundtrip tickets for a low price of Php1645!As the trip date went closer we scrambled to find a place to stay. And it was only four of us left that could make the trip. Me, Chester, Cali and Paula. Chester suggested his ever reliable Sur resort, which was reasonably priced and was more than a decent place to stay in.

The beach of Boracay with powdery white sand

Boracay is considered one of the best beaches in the Philippines and even the world. But due to its popularity, the multitudes of people have also contributed to its degradation and global warming has also taken its toll on the island considerably shrinking its shoreline. Last time I was in Boracay was a good seven or eight years ago. Who knows what Boracay will look like in the next five years…

I consider this trip as one of the best trips ever, even though not everything went as planned. Nothing better than hanging out with great friends in one of the best places on Earth! Cheers guys!
